Proof of Paranormal Existence.

So, how many people have actually gotten proof that the paranormal does exist? How many of you have thought you had proof, until your evidence was shot down by someone else?

I am not an expert on anything, but I have learned a lot by talking with other groups and looking at tons of photos. I would like to think that I know what shutter speed is. Shutter speed or exposure time, refers to the amount of time the camera's shutter is open. When this happens you can see some things that look out of place and could be mistaken as paranormal. People mistake shutter speed for light anomalies all the time.

Cigarette smoke and your breath get mistaken for mists and other things as well. I am a smoker, but know better than to take a picture of cigarette smoke. I also know that when it is cooler outside, hold your breath while taking a picture. Same with the exhaust of a car. When it is cold outside you can see it and it will show up in your photos.

What about taking pictures in mirrors and windows. Are we really gonna do that? Don't we all know what a reflection is? I was once told that it is never a good idea to take a picture into a mirror or window. You have to worry about the reflection. I have seen some pretty cool pics that are said to be paranormal, but really were a reflection in a mirror.

So next we have the camera strap and for some our hair. Always pull tour hair back, take off camera straps also. When a photo is taken and you catch one of these it is often mistaken for something paranormal.

I am not perfect and had to learn this on my own. Yeah it is exciting to think you have caught something cool, but always have someone else look at it. Get that second and third opinion. Don't just assume you know what it is!

The above pictures are examples. Look closely. Cigarette smoke is first. Then we have an example of breath, although it does appear to have the shape of a face. We have moisture and finally 2 with shutter speed.

Investigation at the Hannah House!

So, last night I had the pleasure of investigating the Hannah House with Past Tours. Jason, a member of The Phantom Tribe came with me. We arrived about 8pm and met the members of Past. John, Josh, Christian, and Sammy were there representing Past Tours. By the time I had arrived they had already had their equipment set up.

I started off the investigation by sitting at "home base" with Sammy. I wanted to get an idea of how this team investigated in all areas. I figured it was early enough that I should get that part out of the way! While sitting at home base, we watched the monitor, checking all the cameras out and making sure we let the others know if we saw anything.

The first room I went into to investigate was Grandma's room. According to stories Grandma was a woman who liked things "her" way. Volunteers of the Hannah House will tell you that they always say "Hi" to Grandma. In no way do they disrespect her. If you do disrespect her she will let you know! While upstairs I also visited what they call the "blue room".

Next on my stop was the basement. Basements are creepy even when they are not said to be haunted. Sammy and I went down and the minute we got into the part of the basement with the jars, we heard someone come down the steps behind us. We turned to look and there was no one there. We called up to see if anyone else was by the basement stairs and they were not. We continued to hear something coming up or down the stairs. We did hear some other odd sounds that I am hoping to catch on the digital voice recorder.

Stay tuned and when I finish reviewing evidence I will post whatever I find!

Ghost Walks

Has anyone ever been on a Ghost Walk before? If not, you should. The walks are informative about history and haunted history. I went on one a couple of years ago in downtown Indy. It was cheap and fun. Something different to do around town. If you are interested in going on a ghost walk or tour check out Unseen Press.
